UTPD ‘No Shave November’ Raises Funds for Smokey’s Pantry
The men, women, and K9s of UTPD for the first time have taken on the “No Shave November” challenge to benefit Smokey’s Pantry, UT’s campus food pantry. To participate, each employee gave a $25 donation (some gave a little more!) with all proceeds benefiting Smokey’s Pantry. The department raised $1,161 for the pantry.
UTPD Officers Graduate from Police Academy with Distinction
Two UTPD officers graduated with top honors from the police academy last week.Officer Alexa Stephenson was elected by her peers as class president of the Blount County Sheriff’s Office Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy graduating class. Officer Ethan Long received the William D. Nuchols Award for Law Enforcement Excellence, one of the highest honors given in the graduating class.

More than 20 employees of UT Public Safety have served across all branches of the US armed forces. Throughout the month of November—and in observance of Veterans Day—we will recognize those employees for their dedication to our country and UT.
