Red Fox Sightings Greet UT Patrol Officers

With students away and campus quiet, many of UT’s hidden critters have come into the open.

Among them is a red fox that has been exploring campus and appearing to UT patrol officers at different hours of the day.

“I think it’s the same fox over and over again, but I consistently see it by Hodges Library on Volunteer Boulevard,” said UTPD Officer Alexa Stephenson who works on the night shift. “Other places I have seen the fox include the commuter lot off Terrace Avenue, Philip Fulmer by Gate 10 of Neyland Stadium, and in front of Fraternity Park.”

Stephenson noted that the fox is very shy.

She shared this video of the fox, which she filmed from inside her patrol cruiser.
